What skills and attributes do you require to become a crane operator?

Suggested Qualifications/ Experience

• Crane Operators Licence
• Relevant drivers licences HR at a minimum
• High Risk licence (CO & RI or RA)
• Rigging Knowledge
• National Police Clearance – no more than 3 months old
• White Card

Attributes of a crane driver

• Be in good health and provide medical clearance.
• Good Driving skills
• Be able to handle heights
• Read and follow procedures, including plant and equipment maintenance
• Read and follow relevant work instructions for machinery operations
• Conduct inspections of servicing lifting equipment and conduct simple machinery maintenance
• Be able to demonstrate good levels of safety.
• Have experience of working with cranes, trucks and construction machinery
• Pass drug and alcohol screening
• Mature attitude with good communication skills.
• Work in a team environment.
